Yay!!!

So my follow-up appointment was great, I was praying on the way down that I would be able to handle whatever news they gave me, since I had no idea if my new medication was working or not. But after I answered questions and got a neuro exam, she told me about my MRI results--THEY WERE FABULOUS!!! A lesion that was 'enhancing' last time (aka, active disease) was no longer 'enhancing', two other lesions were shrinking and there was NOTHING new! That is awesome, I do believe there was a collective sigh of relief from Scott and I at the same time.
When the NP asked if I had anymore questions, I looked over at Scott who knew immediately what I was going to ask. I want more babies, she said it is not prohibited, that pregnancy and even breastfeeding can have a protective effect for ladies with MS...they just would like me to wait until I have been on my new meds for at least a year, that way there would be less chance of antibodies against the medication forming while I took a hiatus to grow a baby ;)
I know Scott is still nervous about that whole prospect, and frankly so am I, on one hand reality hits me upside the head and tells me, "hey, don't mess with a good thing!" And then, I think, "but I have two more spots in 'Von' to fill...." I don't want to do anything stupid, but I love having my options again.
Really I am just pleased as punch that things are going well!!!
Double Yay...triple even!!!

"Oh, what do you do in an M-R-I???"

This morning I traveled down to Salt Lake, parked at Western Neurological, checked-in, coughed-up a couple hundred dollars and waited...they called my name and I followed the nice girl to the locker rooms, ready to strip down, don the gown and climb onto the sliding tray of the MRI machine--*nice surprise* I didn't have to strip down, I got to wear my clothes, all I had to take out was my retainer, take off my wedding band and make sure my pockets were empty. I requested a little X96 as background music to the loudness and after having my eyes covered and instructions to keep still I had my follow-up scan done after starting my new medicine, Tysabri, last fall. I laid in there concentrating on my breathing, hoping the abdominal breathing I employed was doing the trick. I sure hope everything is okay; the scan was quick and I got home to a quiet house--I don't think Scott thought I would be back so soon.
I hate sitting here wondering what the results are, I don't find out until next week.
I guess I always hold up an insanely large amount of hope that if everything looks good, maybe, just maybe we could have another little Messel...there are days I think no, it is okay, we're done [especially when Garrett proves that he will be like his brothers and have terrible 3's instead of 2's--you see our pattern has been that we had a baby by this time and well there was nothing we could do about it.] But really, just one more...Scott joked the other day that Max's mom is pregnant again and we could get another dog. Yeah, HECK no!

Love Max, but NO...

Oh, and by-the-way, speaking of Multiple Sclerosis, the MS Walk is coming up on April 30th. My team, The Sorensen Stompers, are again fund-raising, so if you feel so inclined, donate, we would love and appreciate it! Just click above on our team name!

I will post more about the results when I get them...Have a good weekend, my friends!
