We went to Portland for Thanksgiving and spent 11 hours in the car to get there and 10 hours and 45 minutes getting back...it was worth it though, although I probably had a mental breakdown prior to going up there, I was stressed out about everthing at home. That all kind of went away when we "landed" a few days at the Beach House and some laid back days with the in-laws, a major purchase of bunk beds and matching dresser and well the breakdown was gone. ha ha ha
The kids had tons of fun with grandma and bampa, they played and read books and just ate up the attention they got from them that they must not normally get. oooops
So we were all reluctant to leave, but we had to come back to real life someday, the in-laws joked about us being able to stay but only if we got jobs to support our mooching habits up there. :)REAL LIFE: what is that really?
