So for the last 8 months or so I have dreaded working on Christmas Eve and missing out on the joy of the season....so this last year I start a new job and have to work on not only Christmas Eve but on Christmas Day as well, I worked for 8 hours each night and to tell you the truth it wasn't that bad. I made it but I am in serious sleep deprivation mode. I came home the day after Christmas and thought I would feed Cam so I could get some uninterrupted sleep ---yeah Scott found me on the couch hunched over a sleeping Cam with myself exposed ( I don't think he minded) ...this was two hours after my splended idea. I made it though and actually had a great Christmas I didn't miss out on things really.
But to continue, the "joy" of the season is already put away, like yesterday put away--Scott cannot relax and put the lights, the tree everything away, I woke up and Christmas was gone, so to speak. I decided it was okay, I didn't have to do any work....how did I luck out on that end?
I did try to put together one the toys from the grandparents, and well...I put it together wrong, I should have known that if you are forcing to make a piece fit it probably doesn't go that way. Ooops. and in trying to fix it I stripped the screw and can't get it out of the dang thing. Oh well, so Cam will survive if he can't play with the toy yet.
Speaking of Cam, he had his first solid food today (actually we ate with the Smyths last night and Evy sneaked him a morsel of bread, it looked so funny because he didn't know what to do with it in his mouth, it eventually went down.) So Jorden and I put Cam in the seat and covered him up and tried to feed him some watered down rice cereal, yummmm, it went everywhere and the poor kid at first was game and ate it looking for more but by the end he was screaming and I would just pour the stuff in his wide open mouth. Pooor thing, he was soaked by the end. Quite the experience...he is 6 months old today, I can't believe it has been six months since we had the little guy. The whole experience wore him out and he is snoozing while Jorden is upstairs watching blue clues.
So Jorden got an alphabet thing by LeapFrog, he will be in the kitchen and yelling at the top of his lungs the ABC's, over and over and over. I can't be mad at him for 'singing' the ABC's.....
next time won't you sing with me!

Jorden-free
So Jorden is playing at a friend's house, the premises are quiet since Cam is sleeping on the floor where I left him. I sound like a terrific mom, but you know when you need a break you need a break.
But while I am taking a break from my kids, I have to talk about them, Jorden this morning came in to tell me that he dressed himself. He had on a long-sleeve striped shirt (backwards mind you) and underwear and that was it, but, he was so proud of himself. In the past he tried to retrieve a shirt from the closet rod by himself, by pulling with all of his might on the shirt (still on the hanger and still on the rod)---the hanger broke and well, he got the shirt but since has not attempted this tactic. Until today, but the ingenious little boy climbed on the clean clothes in the laundry basket in the closet and lifted the desired shirt from the rod....he was so cute when explaining because he re-emphasized with hand motions how he did it. So he is as independent as they come.
Cam still not yet sitting up is stuck with laying on the floor with a tummy-time view for changes in scenery, the poor kid spits-up a lot though, there is a constant aroma of sour milk and I promise I clean him but alas it is no good, I or he gets nailed every day. He smiles after though and so of course you forgive him.
So since my basement is still freezing I need to go warm up my fingers
Debbie I hope this is good reading, if not have faith in me and I will try and conjure up some juicy stories.
iiiieeeee, I been tagged
So here it goes, five secrets by no means my deepest darkest secrets--for after all if they were divulged my mystery is gone.
1. I stole a candy from the bulk bins at Osco Drug, the funny thing is later, I BOUGHT a candy bar from a candy machine at the rec center pool and took it home and hid behind my bed to eat it, I cannot remember if I thought it was the same treacherous act of stealing, but the 7 year-old mind is a terrible thing to waste.
2. I chewed my fingernails to nubs until I was 22 years old, incidentally I chewed my toenails until I got pregnant with Cameron--the bulk of the belly prevented any chewing and the habit has found a sad end thanks to toe nail clippers and lack of flexibility.
3. I still let Jorden shower with me----I know, I know, he is 3 1/2...
4. My hips are extremely ticklish---Scott knows this
5. I am running out of lame secrets. Okay, so once when I was a freshman in college, I broke up with a boy by telling him I was dying of cancer......start laughing I was totally lame, the kid probably thought I was retarded, so on that note of revealing my lameness I adjourn
