Ahh, the 'Mammoth' P-rade

After getting off a night-shift, waking Scott and the boys up when I got home at 4 am we drove down to Fairview where Scott and I ran the 5K...then after a shower at his parent's motel room we went back to Uncle Vaughn's for our prime seat for the p-rade. These are the best, they still throw candy at these p-rades, I do believe I was nodding off throughout the whole thing, but caught my share of derby cars, emergency vehicles, and pageant princesses. After that I went back to the motel and crashed while the boys stayed for the BBQ and opening of the time capsule we put in the grainary cellar. We ended up leaving for home while everyone else went up the mountain--we wish we would have stayed, but alas I needed sleep!

My idea of camping

I found this awesome firepit at Sundance and while I am not a "camper" per se, I wanted to give it a trial run, so we set-up our tent and had a camp-out in the backyard, the boys did well and we all got some sleep.

Cub Scout Day Camp @ Camp Fife...the boys had a blast!!!
They were able to do archery, a dirt bike course, zip line, relay race and were able to spend cold-hard cash in the camp store.

Let Freedom Ring

The "3rd" of July was fun, Scott was in Vee Dub heaven,--he decorated 'Oscar' and lined-up with the rest of the club to be in the Kaysville Parade. The holiday weekend just kept going with the "5th" of July...I got to go down to Provo and run the Freedom Run 10K with Scott, watch the parade with my kiddos, and then head to Mom's for our traditional family BBQ and pool party! It was a lot of fun and it was a blast running with Scott--I have to bribe/coerce/drag him to such activities, but he actually said he wanted to do another race after we finished (and he was the one pushing the Bill & Ted's with Garrett strapped-in for the ride). The pool was welcoming and the food delicious. It was a bummer I had to foot it back to Ogden to work that night, but the boys enjoyed watching the fireworks from the front yard.
