Garrett is walking...Wahoo!

So after following the footsteps (no pun intended) of his older brother, Garrett now has two sets of "first steps" pictures, I held off being really worried about him until he hit the 18-month mark--when it still wasn't happening our Pediatrician referred him to PCMC physical therapy for an evaluation to make sure nothing was wrong.
As it turned out, Lisa our PT, found NOTHING wrong with the kid--he just didn't want to, lack-luster desire, hmmmm.
But as I sit here typing this update, he keeps standing up and walking towards me. Yeah!!!! We go back to see Lisa tomorrow, I can't wait to tell her our news!

I don't know how to switch it, so sorry for the sideways viewing...

Mornings are not my friend

One would think the nature of habit and routine would have settled in by now...school has been in for 8 or so weeks now. I spent an hour this morning hitting the dern alarm clock by my head and hearing the baby babbling incessantly in his crib. I finally lifted my head and actually looked at the neon numbers and gasped as I saw 9:00! School starts at 8:50...whoops
I really should put my alarm clock across the room and turn up the volume to top annoying level so as to force me out of bed, maybe next week after I work a Sunday night...

No worries, Jorden did go to school, after eating his frosted flakes. Thank goodness for a positive lunch account balance so I didn't have to wrangle up a sandwich, etc. for the boy to eat before he runs on to recess.

The little boys are currently watching Garfield holiday cartoons, I am not sure Garrett has ever sat in one spot for so long before. Cam periodically comes in and tells about Ody with a pumpkin on his head or Garrett grabs the remote and turns the thing off so then it starts all over.
I just grabbed my little jewelry box from the USSR my aunt got me for Christmas years ago and was told I took away the dressing room for the lego man....travesty at our house! At least it is almost noon, which means it is almost lunch time and then *sigh* quiet time... :)

If only

The other week while I was at work, Scott was watching Cameron yanking on his head and grunting and getting pretty frustrated in the process said, "I can't take it off."
Scott replied with, "What are you mad at?"
Cam then said, "I can't take my head off like a Lego Man..."

One Friday, while I slept in, Scott took Jorden to school. As they were pulling into the school's drop-off, the song "Say Hey", by Michael Franti & Spearhead was on the radio and Scott was jamming out/singing along--
Jorden looked at Scott and said, "Dad stop!"
Scott then said, "Doesn't this song make you want to dance?"
Jorden: "It does make my head want to go up and down (bobbing) but it doesn't make me want to dance."

running but going nowhere

Do you ever feel like a hamster in a wheel...when you are working your tail off but not seeing results?

I am finally seeing results...perhaps no one else can, but after Garrett was born I thought the baby weight would magically disappear like it did the first two times, apparently turning 30 did something to my metabolism because the extra pounds did not go away, I got close (last December), but until this week I have not been as close. So only 3 more pounds to go until I get to pre-pregnancy weight...and then onto the next goal

*gulp*
